yesterday, our lil bugga-boo, rk, turned one. ONE!
where did the time go?
unfortunately, he's been sick for his birthday. we did have a small get together with some of froggy's friends. we picked up a cake, some ice cream, i made chili and cornbread for dinner. it went rather late, so it was a good thing hub's wasn't home, and it got a little overwhelming and noisy for me, and kiddo didn't get any gifts (no one could afford anything, but i might try to pick up a late something or other this weekend, if funds permit), but all in all it was good. here's a few photos of the night...
momma helped with the cake face, but he was getting into on his own, mostly—being sick put a damper on it, i think.

he's walking like a boss now and babbling, but not using actual words yet. he's attached back to momma after his rocky run around, and seems less unnerved by people he doesn;t see often. he still gets very upset with grandpa though, more so if momma or i are in the house. he fights sleep ALL THE TIME. he could be exhausted, and he'd still fight going to bed. he's sick now...and still fights taking his naps and going to bed.
he's had a bit of a day after that had pretty much nothing to do with yesterday's sugar and everything to do with the sick and being cranky about it. hoping he'll feel better soon.
there are a few other things going on, but not sure how much i want to talk about them. most of it is stress from the political bull shit, and that political b.s. is showing up in ways i'm not happy with. and i'm having no fun with technology of late, so for now, we'll stick with the grandbaby's birthday.
